Slumber Party

Kyle Kendrick decided to join the offense in their slumber party tonight, as he lulled Phillies fans to sleep by giving up 6 runs in only 3 2/3 innings in the 8-3 loss.  He also walked 5 batters.  Those of us on the East Coast attempting to stay awake to watch the late night adventure were given little reason to stay vertical.  Then there was the usual lack of offense; they scored 3 runs in the first 4 innings, but after that, nothing.  It was the baseball equivalent to Ambien.  Once again, I am at a loss of words for the sad, sad play of this team.  Tonight, they faced a rookie pitcher whom they had an ideal opportunity to exploit and they failed miserably.  So sad all the sleep I have missed this week watching this disaster.  Pass the Ambien please; zzzzzzzzzzz...
