Lidge Must Go
I have very little to say today; Brad Lidge blew another save today as the Phillies lost to the Braves, 3-4 in what should have been a 3-2 win. Yes, the offense should have scored more runs. However, what is a closer for if not to save tight games?
Lidge has proven that he cannot get the job done this year; it is time for a change. In the words of Forrest Gump, that’s all I have to say about that.

It is 2007 all over again, but instead of Charlie’s blind allegiance to Gordon killing us, it is his blind allegiance to Lidge. I’ll be forever grateful to the man for what he did for the team in 2008, but the Brad Lidge Experiment has got to end. When he is on the mound, you get the feeling that his mind is back in 2005 with Pujols rounding the bases…
I heard there is a chance that the Phillies might be interested in Mike Timlin. Do you think they will sign him?

I would hate Lidge If he was on my team. Thank goodness we have Kerry Wood to blow our saves.

Julia – Seriously doubt Timlin is a possibility. He is almost Moyer’s age and has not played all year. We have a few guys who can close, like Madson and maybe Romero when he gets well, so I don’t think they would sign a guy like Timlin. We are all hoping Brett Myers gets well soon and can close again!
Jenn, I think this is the shortest post I have seen from you! If Lidge blows a save on Wednesday, I wonder if all the bobbleheads will get thrown on the field at him?
